About
Why I Built This
I kept running into paywalls, daily limits, and apps that were a bit much for the job. Sometimes I just want to resize a picture and move on.
There are already good open source libraries for most of this stuff. I wanted some simple interfaces for them, so I made a few. It was also a good excuse to see how much a browser can do these days.
Why “Oh! Tools”?
My last name is O’Toole. I made some tools. The name more or less picked itself… and domains are non-refundable.
How it works
Editing, converting, hashing, and running queries happen on your device. Our servers deliver the site, but they don’t process your files.
The site still makes network requests. Some tools download fonts, libraries, or database extensions. If you open a remote URL or run a query that accesses another service, your browser contacts that service.
Browser Bridge is for sharing between devices. Simple Codes uses a temporary server to exchange connection details. Those details aren’t encrypted, so the signaling service can read them. Direct Exchange skips that service. WebRTC encrypts the files and messages sent between devices.
Hosting providers and external services may keep ordinary request logs, including IP addresses and requested URLs.
